Absolute blast from the past here in TM Juke & The Jack Baker Trio funked up cover version of Put Your Hands Up For Detroit by Fedde Le Grand and it's pretty much exactly what you think, a super funk version performed by a life band.
I was always a fan of TM Juke ever since i heard "Life, Rainfall" many years ago. That was a very sample heavy track, and it's nice to see how he's progressed from sample-centric tracks to straight outright funk.
The thing I really like about this as a cover version is it's not a cheesy play on the original, they've just taken the main riff, ramped it up and then just jammed along – it works, and really well. it's quite a subdued intro/opening stanza, the drums and the teased little stabs, but when the main groove finally kicks in it's difficult not to have a smirk on your face and a wiggle in your butt.
Enjoy!
