Storm Queen – It Goes On

It was a really hard decision on what track to feature today. I really wanted to go for a Morgan Geist track as I had an almost purely MG based playlist but should I go for something newish in Storm Queen or roll back the years and cover a Metro Area track or even one of his remixes.

In the end I opted for the Storm Queen track as I've had it on repeat for most of the weekend after rediscovering it last week.

It's a simple sounding but sonically complex track, Geist opting for a classic 80's sounding house track. Think Inner City, Ten city et al.. and in Damon Scott Geist has found a vocalist to rival both Byron Stingley and Paris Grey. Someone told me the track feels very one dimensional, it's not. the bass and the synths lead you to the chorus which departs far too soon leaving you gasping for more. It's classic material that can hold its own in the clubs or on the home system.

I'll leave it there and let you listen to the track, I picked it up on Juno, it's a must buy in my opinion.

Very different journey for me today as I'm in London.

Leave the house around 8.30am as i'm in no rush, and jump on the District Line with a good hours worth of travel ahead of me. I start the journey by listening to the immense Morgan Geist Remix of Hot Toddy's "I need Love" and use this as a spring board to revisit the Metro Area album. As i hit Tower Hill I decide it's time to switch and listen to Space Dimension Controller – The love Quadrant, but those disco licks call me back in and as i disembark at Westminster and make the short walk to work from there I dial into Geists fantastic Storm Queen project and finish with the featured track "It goes on" – just not long enough.

Playlist: Hot Toddy – I Need Love feat Ron Basejam (Morgan Geist Mix), Metro Area – Metro Area,Space Dimension Controller – The Love Quadrant, Storm Queen – Look right Through, Storm Queen – It goes on  (Vox)
