The whole idea of picking a track from your daily commute seemed lke such an simple idea when we first set out but what about when your playlists don't change much or you have those days when you just don't want to listen to music? Can't always take a freebie, so what then?
This week has been one of them, i just haven't really felt like listening to much music and have instead been flicking through what was on my phone or just completely giving it a miss and watch or read something instead.. then today i was flicking through when on came the wonderful Âme remix of Sailor & I and i realised, even though it was pretty much the only track I listened to, I hadn’t blogged it, which frankly is just criminal. So here we are:
Sailor & I 'Turn Around' (Âme Remix)
German duo Kristian Beyer & Frank Wiedemann have been turning out soulful tech-house jams for a while, but it's stuff i tend to find quite hit and miss, on this occsion it's a massive hit. A totally mesmeric winding track that compliments the melancholic vocals of swedish singer, songwriter & prodcuer Alexander Sjodin.
The original is quite indie pop in feel so it's interesting to hear Âme's take on the track, vocal apart they are about as far apart as you can get, one grabs you by the throat and drags you in the other taps you on the shoulder whispers in your ear and seduces you.
It's a lovely piece of fluid deep house that just yearns for a dark room and a big soundsystem.
