It's been a while since I posted, but that's been largely down to the fact I've been on Holiday for a bit.
Anyway, wanted to jump back on the horse and with a few hours stuck on a flight I caught up with some music i'd recently purchased, one of which was the Joey Negro "Remixed with Love" series from 2013.
I know that's a bit of a throwback but I've always been a fan of Negro but never really featured any of his stuff. his music was Nu-disco before the term was ever coined and both Fourbearsjr and myself have always followed what he's doing as both an artists and a DJ, and in this case as a remixer.
I've featured "Haven't you Heard" before, it's a classic and I still love it to this day, but I really enjoyed hearing a twist on it. I'm a big edit fan, I like that people can take things and twist them into new yet familiar versions, and this is a prefect example of how to do it. Negro clearly uses a stemmed version to rearrange the track and it works so so well, beefed up drums and then the appropriate ebbs and flows that keep the track in a familiar structure but bring new tempo and energy to the table.
And, that's it….. enjoy.
