Lana Del Rey – Summertime Sadness (MK Lee Foss Remix)

MK-Lee-FossSh*tty Day, followed by a Sh*tty evening. sometimes things just don't work out for you, so i'm gonna take a freebie and post a guilty pleasure that i've listened to a lot this week.

Lana Del Rey – Summertime Sadness (MK Lee Foss Remix)

Wait, what? Lana Del Rey? yeah, I got to say it's someone i never thought i'd be blogging but it's only because shes been given the remix treatment from two of my favourite house producers Lee Foss and Mark Kinchen.

Oddly it's not two names i'd have instantly lumped together, Lee Foss being the main man at the excellent Hot Creations and MK being more of a New York house producer, in my eyes at least, but i've got to say it works really really well.

The track is typical hot creations, big bouncing midtempo beat, with a funky bassline that literally grabs you and screams wiggle to me.The vocals are chopped up really well, but it's hard not to think they've maybe been forced into using a little more of her Voice than they would have liked, but even then she comes accross a latter day Stevie Nicks on this track so it's not the end of the world. The song rolls along nicely switching up at exactly the right moments and it's clear when you listen that it's been written with nothing more in mind then ripping up a dance floor, but like a lot of Hot Creations stuff it works well outside of those environments.

Enjoy, and here's to the weekend, and (hopefully) England winning the Grand Slam tomorrow..
