Jose Bee – Jose Bee’s Chop Shop Mix

joseschopshopMuch like Fourbearsjr, a lot of my listening over the last few days has been the new Phoenix album. Now not wanting to post two tracks by the same group, from the same album, back to back i decided to post up the only other thing that’s been on my mp3 player this week.

Jose Bee – Jose Bee's Chop Shop Mix

Part of the mixkings crew I've featured a mixes by Jose before, notably his State of Hip Hop mixes, but  this goes back a lot further than those, by about a year. It is a beat tape by Jose mixed up with some of the most classic of hip hop. In fact i'd forgotten about the tape until he reposted it on a certain forum we both frequent.

Starting out with one of my all time favourite Hip Hop tracks in "Lord Finesse – Hip 2 da Game" he takes it chops it up and remixes it in a way that loses none of the originals impact. He then keeps the pace steady and heavy taking in other tracks that rate very highly on my all time greats list in "Nas – It ain't hard to tell" and "7L & Esoterics – Speaking Real Words feat Inspectah Deck". Yep it's a who's who of classic era hip hop artists all remixed in Jose’s nice fluid style.

The full track list reads as follows:

Lord Finesse – Hip 2 da game, Jungle brothers – Jungle brother, K Dean – It was a he, Nas – It aint hard to tell, Pete rock and cl smooth – They reminisce over you (t.r.o.y.), Hieroglyphics – Who, Jose Bee – Lala Beat, 7l & esoteric ft. Inspectah deck – Speaking real words, Outkast – Aliens, Erick sermon – Bomdigi, Brandy – I wanna be down, Jose Bee – Root down dub, House of Pain – Jump Around, Beastie Boys – Right Now, Black Rob – whoa

If that doesn't wet your appetite i don't know what will.
