I am covering for Aapie this week who is on holiday and I was going to have a theme but then thought that might be cheating and that I should really try to put up stuff I have listened to on my commute. I did listen to today's track but I did cheat a bit as I remembered it over the weekend and loaded it up.
Jon Lucien's Would You Believe In Me.
I bumped into this track when I first started dj'ing around the time of acid jazz. I actually got this first on a totally wired comp and as a stand out track it has stayed with me ever since. He had an amazing voice and the track is a lovely blend of jazz, funk and soul. The but that kills me is the kind of chorus where the vocal and horn section follow the same melody and the sound it creates, my word, Top Draw.
