Geotic – Nav

I have been meaning to put a track up from the album tonight's track comes from, for some time. So when it came on in the car, randomly, this morning it was finally time.

Geotic is Bill Wiesenfed, who has also released stuff under the name Baths – hailing from Tarzana (eh!) Los Angeles. Tonight's track comes from his album Abysma which was released on Ghostly earlier this year. And you can tell its from Ghostly the moment the album starts. It has that sound that you would bet your house on is from their stable. Nav, the track i have plumped for, sounds like Lusine having a beer with Matthew Dear. But even though it has that familiar ghostly sound, its is fantastic stuff in its own right. Particularly Nav – it is one of the more house based tracks, with vocals and it has the most gorgeous, warm electronic sound. Beautiful melodies that just build and then float in and out. When you read about Bill his music is dance orienteted but unapologetically aimed at listening at home. The production backs this up – when it came on in my car (obviously pretty loud) my goodness it was one of the most gorgeous sounding things i have heard in some time.

Its a fantastic track from a fantastic album which you can pick up on bandcamp. Well worth checking out
