So my commute today was a lone drive to work. A crisp pre-winter morning, plugged in my phone, banged on the latest album from Generationals – Heza, which has been on my list of things to check out for a while.
This is the third album from the New Orleans duo and is released on the excellent Polyvinyl label. It crosses a few genres but at its core its a kind of an indie pop record; a perfect fit for a day like today, especially the track I have gone for – Put A Light On. It’s catchy as hell and I love the rough sounds and heavy beat that offsets the lovely melody. There is more of the same across the album and the storming, almost c86 style opener, Spinoza, deserves a mention and almost went up. Cool video too.
