Ada – Intro

Picked up the Ada album “Meine zarten Pfoten”, which if I’m right roughly translates as “My Tender Paws” on e-music last year. I was on a bit of an end of month splurge to use up my credits before I lost them, and I literally bought the album off the back of the opening few bars of this track "Intro" and on an act of faith as I’d liked Ada’s "Blondie" album of several years ago. I’ve not regretted it.

Ada, alias for Frankfurt’s Michaela Dippel, is an interesting project. The album as a whole is very nice, very jazz orientated, Electronica, with some real vocal twists in there – “Happy Birthday” for instance on this album, is mesmerising and creepy in equal amounts, with a Todd Edwards-esque chopped vocal over lush and mellow electronic's.

Intro itself, is another great, and confusing, track. The first time I listened to it I thought “damn, the mp3 is f*cked!” but then the fill dropped, and the track started to build up again. It’s melodic and very loop orientated, breaking down into its base components and then slowly bringing them all back, it took a couple of listens for me to really get it and for it to grow on me but it’s now a firm favourite of mine.

Playlist for Monday 9th January 2012:

Eurgh! Monday morning, worst morning of the week, and toughest walk to work for certain.

Still wasn’t all bad, managed to listen to the following tracks on my journey in: Lee M Kelsall – On the road (Matt Fear Remix), Maceo Plex – I can’t leave You, Maze – Twighlight, Little Jinder – Youth Blood (12th Planet & Flinch Remix), Ada – Intro, Tensnake – Congolal (Version).
